Iceland has kicked off a recruitment drive as it embarks on a major expansion of its food delivery business.
The frozen food specialist is hiring 250 extra drivers to support and strengthen its current network, The Standard reported.
Iceland Foods and The Food Warehouse HR director Helen Tindle said: “We are currently recruiting for over 250 home delivery driver roles across Iceland and The Food Warehouse, as we prepare for the busy Easter trading period.”

It comes as the supermarket chain is looking to steal market share from online rivals by attracting customers on tightened budgets with free delivery, for which Ocado charges as much as £7.
The online giant revealed it had plunged to a £394m annual loss on Thursday but reported its grocery venture with M&S delivered a “positive full-year adjusted EBITDA” thanks to “strong trading performance and cost efficiencies”.
Iceland Executive Chairman Richard Walker told the Rest is Money podcast last month: “It’s very difficult to compete with someone who’s happy to make no money – speak to a bookseller trying to compete with Amazon.
“But now we’re in a really good place as a business to keep growing…we have massive online delivery business and we do more deliveries per week than Ocado now.”
